7.18.09 | NEW BEGINNINGS
Hello to all our friends and loyal customers. We have an exciting announcement to make. Pie de Gigante Restaurant will be under new management beginning August 1st. After nearly 10 years in Nicaragua Keith & Maria are taking a long-deserved sabbatical to the USA. We will settle in Las Vegas for now, where Maria is pursuing job and business opportunities in the hospitality industry. Also, Keith will spend some time with his best friend in Memphis pursuing his passion for building and racing 1/4-mile cars, and helping run his friend's auto shop and parts store.
The business will be managed and operated by Ms Chanelle Kelly. Chanelle currently operates a boutique in Gigante, and intends to consolidate the boutique with the restaurant, providing bar service and a new menu of cafe-style plates. And while she offers a different menu than ours we are sure our patrons will enjoy her friendly, high-quality service and culinary offerings served in your favorite beach-side restaurant. Chanelle also is experienced in local real estate sales and vacation rentals, so she will continue to provide these services through this web site as we have in the past.

We are proud to announce that the restaurant will reopen on Saturday the 21st of March. We hope to see all our old friends as well as anyone else that may be in the area at that time. The first brew is on us.

We now have a phone line! We can be reached at 505-828-4373.The surf season is in full swing and the restaurant is staying quite busy these days. The crowd seems to be about half surfers and half investors and buyers coming to Gigante to overlook construction or find a place to start it. Casa Amarilla's roof is going on this week and should be up for rent soon on GiganteNicaragua.com.

3.3.07 | REASON TO CELEBRATE!
Gigante now has running water. The days of making 3 trips a day to the well to fil up the water tank are over! The village of Gigante has piped in water and the celebration is today at Pie de Gigante Oceanside Restaurant.Casa Amarillo, the beachhouse being built next to the restaurant is coming along, the floor has been poured and we hope to have the house completed and ready for rental next season. The view from the balcony will be amazing but you'll have to come down when you smell the cooking next door.
